Description:
This program is meant to transfer files and FULL DISKS track by track
from and back to Amiga computers using an IBM-PC clone and a serial
null-modem cable.
Features: - Copies files from and to an Amiga.
- Transfers Amiga disks or tracks from and to .ADF files.
- Makes copies of the Amiga ROMs into the IBM.
- Up to 19200bps using the standard "serial.device" on an A500.
- Up to 115200bps using the "BaudBandit.device" (available on
AmiNet) on an A500. (Registered versions only)
- Works with all OSs (That's what I think because I've used OS
legal programming - no direct hardware access).
- No need to copy disks to files before transfering them.
Requirements: - A Commodore Amiga computer would be nice :-).
- A IBM-PC clone would also be nice :-)).
- Any AmigaDOS version.
- MS-DOS 3.0 or higher (I'm not sure about Windows 95/98, but
I advise you to launch them from MS-DOS mode).
- A working copy of a disk that has a "serial.device" and a CLI
(Eg: Workbench).
- A way to put "OrionAm" on the amiga and "ORIONPC.EXE" on the
PC. (Eg. Twin Express available on AmiNet).
- Serial null-modem cable (See "orion.doc").
Limitations: - No serial timeout check.
- Wildcards not much supported.
- No checksum check (I've still had no need for it :-))
- Command line driven.
- Be sure to enter Amiga filenames correctly or the computers
will hang.
Sorry about these limitations, I will release Orion Tranfer v2.0 soon if
I get enough support for this one. That one will have a graphical interface
and much larger .ADF support. Also error correction, etc... (See "orion.doc"
for details about this).
